Judy Knight

Judy was born January 22, 1945 in New London, Connecticut, daughter of the late Henry and Leone Pyne.

She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Knight and wife Ruth Doherty and Randy Knight and wife Jessica; six grandchildren, Anwen, Caelan, Ella, Saige, Sammy, and Liam; two sisters, Susan Amato and husband Joseph and Deb Lipsen; her beloved nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Jamie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Knight; and her brother, Tom Pyne.

She dedicated her career to the healthcare industry, working for Cigna and Aetna as a Marketing Director.

She was a woman who loved her family and friends deeply, and nothing made her happier than time spent with those she loved — especially at Christmas, which was her favorite time of year. She had a lifelong love of reading, book clubs, and volunteering with local libraries. She also had an adventurous spirit that took her travelling around the world whenever she could, and a great appreciation for good food, a nice meal out, and cold fountain Diet Coke. A beach lover at heart, she spent many a summer in Westport Point, MA soaking in the sun, red wine, and lobsters.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will follow the service until 7:00 pm. An additional service will be held later this summer in Simsbury, CT with details to follow.
