Junious Hedric Royal

Mr. Royal was born May 1, 1926 to the late Norene and Harvey Royal in Wilson, North Carolina. Sam joined the Merchant Seamen after graduating high school. He married and moved his family to New York where he was employed as a plumber and steamfitter, by the State of New York. He retired in 1976 and moved back to North Carolina to Sunset Harbor. He loved the fishing and serenity of the area. He enjoyed racing, fishing, traveling, country music, and auctions. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred, sister Nadene Henning, sister Mavourneen Burke, and daughter June Haynes.

Surviving are sister Margie Dosher Tomei of Boiling Springs; brother H.B. Royal and wife Pat of Clinton, NC; daughter Brenda Fiedler of Bolivia, NC; son Jay Royal and wife Kelly of Bolivia, NC; stepdaughters, Kathy Bass and husband Glenn of Kenner, NC, Celie Cumbo and husband Dan of Wilmington, NC; stepson Ray Daughtry and wife Lynn; granddaughters Kimberly Tordik and husband Greg of Suwanee, GA, and Heather Haynes-Biesham and husband Bernie of Swampscott, MA, and Ashley Braswell and husband George of Southport, NC; grandsons, Paul Fiedler and wife Lydia of New Richmond, WI, Philip Fiedler of Wilmington, and Adam Fiedler of Bolivia; step-granddaughters, Breann Priebe, Carley Cumbo, Blair Cumbo Hairr; step-grandsons, Braden Cumbo and Jeremy Reid Cumbo; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and a very special companion Diana Buell, which has been our rock.

Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Faith Community Church in Bolivia with Reverend Lewis Benton officiating. Burial will be at 2pm at Grandview Memorial Park in Clinton.

Pallbearers will be Paul Fiedler, Philip Fiedler Adam Fiedler, Glenn Bass, Michael Burke, and Joe Bolduc.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday, March 9, 2015 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, North Carolina 28422.
