

Lee was preceded in death by his parents LeGrand Edward Wolansky and Kathleen Mary Wolansky.
He is survived by his wife Christina Ellen Wolansky of Oak Island, children Mary Kathleen Young (husband Christopher) of Marshfield, MA, Rebecca McDonald Callahan (husband David) of Boiling Springs, SC, Joanna Catherine Jones (husband Michael) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Lee Warren Wolansky (wife Lindsey) of Oak Ridge, NC, grandchildren Sarah, Jack, and MaryKate Young, Dean Callahan, Lauren Jones, and Luke Wolansky, brother Lynn Wolansky of Hickory, NC, sisters Donna Wojciaczyk (husband Jimmy) of Port Jefferson Station, NY and Dinah Nicholas (husband Arthur) of Madison, WI, and his faithful canines Matlida and Lilly “the baby”.
Lee was born in North Tonawanda, New York on November 28th, 1944. He graduated from Tonawanda High School, class of 1963 where he then left for the US Navy. During his tenure in the Navy, he served on the U.S.S OPPORTUNE ARS-41 during Vietnam and U.S.S ATKA AGB-3 during Operation Deep Freeze Antarctica. While in the Coast Guard he served on the U.S.C.G.C MACKINAW WAGB-83, 1966. After serving in the Navy and Coast Guard, he went on to work for the Boston Railroad, Penske in Patchogue, NY, US Merchant Marines, Long Island Lighting Company (LILCO), Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Granbury, TX, Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) in Glen Rose, TX, Shoreham Nuclear Power Station in Wading River, NY, Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, Pantex in Amarillo, TX, and has worked at X-10 Nuclear Reactor, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN for the last 20 years.
Words cannot do justice to the life that Lee lived. He was a lover, a fighter and a giver. He served his country proudly, overcame adversity, loved working, loved fishing, loved the beach, and loved his family. Those who knew him will deeply miss his quirky personality and upside down smile. His memory will live on in the lives of his loved ones.
The visitation for Lee will be held on Saturday November 14th at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home located at 1411 N. Howe Street in Southport, NC at 6:00 in the evening. The funeral service will take place at 7:00pm with a reception immediately following.
A memorial will be held on Saturday November 21st at 12:00pm at the Power Squadron located at 707 Emory Valley Road in Oak Ridge, TN.
