She was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on June 21, 1942 the daughter of the late James Gibson and Alta Jane Ewing Gibson.
Mrs. Tilley a an avid animal lover and a member of the local ASPCA. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Surviving are her children, Joseph McKinney of Maiden, NC, Trina McKinney Whitesides of Charlotte, NC and Frank McKinney of Hilton Head, SC; a special friend, Don Morton of Oak Island, NC; two sisters, Wilma Rankin of Wilmington and Brenda Suttles of Camden, SC; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; her special pets, "Rudy, Princess, Sebastian and Weone."
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Peacock Newnam &White Funeral and Cremation Service Southport, NC by pastor, Rocky Myrick officiating.
