Mary R. Jones

Born December 1, 1934 in Fayetteville, NC she was the daughter of Elec and Florence Capps Brinkley.

She enjoyed bowling, waterskiing, and cooking. She was a fantastic angler and an avid bow hunter.

She retired as a contractor for USPS, where she was recognized for her service with the Eagle Award.

She was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children, James Hunter Ratcliffe; and her second husband, Dusty Jones.

She is survived by her children, Dyan R. Beynon, and her husband, Gil Beynon, Donald Owen Ratcliffe, and his wife, Stormy Jean Ratcliffe, and Darryl Ratcliffe; her grandchildren, Amy Sheffield, Jordan Teague, Joy Casey, Donald Owen Ratcliffe, Jr., Megan Collier, Raymond Gamble, Erica Lee Ratcliffe, and Mason Cade Ratcliffe; her great grandchildren, Owen Ratcliffe and Reese Ratcliffe.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, David Hunter Ratcliffe.

A visitation will be held at 1 pm on Sunday January 26, 2025 at Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Home, 1411 N. Howe St, Southport, NC. The family requests that guests wear “hearts” in honor of Mrs. Jones.
