Mary Lou worked in the customer service department at Mikasa Co., Secaucus NJ, and Charleston SC, before retiring in 2012. Born and raised in Jersey City, she resided in Manchester Twp. NJ before moving to Oak Island NC in 2023. Mary loved singing, dancing, bowling, playing the lottery, gambling in Atlantic City, Snoopy, and the Dallas Cowboys- (We Dem Boyz). Mary was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Southport NC.
Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Jacqueline Meehan, Rita Kearney, and her brother Eugene. Mary is survived by her sister Edwardine Nickerson of Oak Island NC, and her brother John Nickerson of Manchester Twp. NJ as well as many nieces, nephews, & great-nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Southport, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary L. Nickerson’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
