

N. Harry Williams, 93 of Southport, passed away on September 25, 2019. Mr. Williams was born October 21, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA to the late N. Harry Williams, Sr. and Eleanor Mason Williams. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served aboard a submarine in WWII in the Sea of Japan. Harry and his crew successfully torpedoed a Japanese ship. He and his wife were residents of Daytona Beach for 34 years, where they were members of Daytona Beach United Methodist Church, until moving to Southport in 2011.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife Elisabeth Jane Williams, whom he met while playing in an accordion band in Philadelphia. He was also preceded in death by a brother Richard “Bud” Williams and a sister Jean Gaddis.
Survivors include his daughter Linda Hilaman and her husband Dr. Brad Hilaman; a son Richard Jesse Williams; four grandchildren, Wendi Wheeler, Amy Lubell, Lisa Hilaman Sasser, and Joe Hilaman; and three great-grandchildren, Mallory Lubell, Brandon Lubell, and Adalyn May Sasser.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Southport Baptist Church on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 3:00 pm.
