Nate was born July 15, 1946, son of the late Irving Lipsen and Olga Yourman Lipsen and grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He and Deb, his loving wife of 47 years, moved to St. James in 2009 from Mamaroneck, New York.
Nate was known for his dry humor, sense of adventure, political savvy, volunteerism, and love of sport shooting. During his life in St. James Nate was an active member of the St. James Rifle and Pistol Association, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Volunteer Group, St. James Biking Club, St. James Model Yacht Club, and the St. James Fishing Club. Nate designed and managed the websites for most of these groups. He has touched many lives and we will miss him dearly.
In addition to his wife Deb, survivors include his Russian host daughter Anastasia Canfora and husband Alan; granddaughter Maya; sister Claire Cerrato and husband Charlie; sisters-in-law, Judy Knight and husband Bob; Susan Amato and husband Joe; and nieces and nephews Gregory, Christina, Gregory Amato, Sandy, Christopher, Randy, Jeff, Christopher Pyne, Danny, Missy, Anna, and Judy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport. In honor of Nate, casual attire is preferred. If you are a member of any of these groups please wear that club shirt.
