In 1942, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and was a member of the 58th Bomb Wing, 462nd Bomb Group, 770th Squadron. He served as Radio Operator on a B-29, which his crews named the "Ramp Tramp" in the China, Burma, India Theater, completing 45.5 missions over the Himalayas from India to China. While bombing japan from the island of Tinian, he survived a bailout in the Pacific Ocean earning membership in both the Goldfish and Caterpillar Club. Throughout his life, Paul enjoyed corresponding with his fellow crew members and numerous WWII veterans and their families.
After the war, Paul became a watchmaker and gemologist. After marrying Beverly Hein, they moved to West Palm Beach, Florida where he opened Myers Jewelers and was known for providing diamonds for many engagements!
Paul had a great love of music and enjoyed playing several instruments, epically the piano.
In 1966, he married the late Leona Tambascio. Survivors include daughters Colleen and Roger Paul of Oak Island, NC and Carole Pitts of Forest, VA; grandsons Jonathan Paul and Stephen Paul; and a granddaughter Sigrid Pitts.
Mr. Myers will be buried beside his wife in West Palm Beach, Florida.
