

Reverend Kelly dedicated his life to the ministry from a young age. He faithfully served as the Pastor of First Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Southport for 59 years and in 1982 founded the First Apostolic Church of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He also established and operated a private Christian Educational Academy at the Southport church for 22 years.
A lifelong learner and avid traveler, Reverend Kelly’s deep desire to spread the Gospel took him across the world, ultimately fulfilling his dream of traveling to Asia, Africa, South America, Europe and Australia. He used his knowledge and theological expertise to author college Bible courses for eight universities that have educated and inspired students of the ministry worldwide.
Reverend Kelly’s greatest legacy is found in his family. He shared a beautiful and unwavering marriage of 69 years to Marjorie Raynor Kelly. Together they modeled a life of devoted partnership, unconditional love and a shared faith.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie Kelly, and fondly remembered by countless extended family members, friends and the members of his congregations whose lives he touched deeply.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 309 W. West Street, Southport, on Friday, July 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Jacksonville, North Carolina in the Raynor Cemetery, Raynor Avenue off Blue Creek Road.
