Dick was born on June 11,1945 in Baltimore Maryland, son of the late Richard and Margaret Widmyer. He was a proud veteran of the USMC and served in Vietnam. He attended Mt. St. Joseph High School in Baltimore, University of MD, and graduated from University of Baltimore. Dick spent his career in hydraulic and pneumatic sales and manufacturing; ultimately owning his own distributorship in Kansas City and St. Louis. He retired to Winding River in Dec. 2011. There he was known for his love of family and friends, especially little ones, and enjoyed a great sense of humor until the end. Survivors include his wife of 51 years Louise Zorn Widmyer of Winding River; children, Janet Gerard and husband Todd of New Bern and William of Winding River and Wilmington; sisters Elizabeth Stevenson, husband Ronald of Baltimore, Marlene Little and husband John of Port Isabel, TX and Mary Karen Widmyer of Wilmington; also three loving grandchildren Nate, Wes and Jack.
The family has decided on a quiet, family only Funeral Mass for Richard/Dad.
