Robert “Bob” Milner will not be coming down for breakfast this morning. He died Friday night, September 12, 2025, listening to 50’s music with his daughter by his side, leaving this world the way he lived it: with style and a soundtrack.
Bob was born May 21, 1941, delivered by Dr. Tom Hepburn, the brother of Katharine Hepburn. He grew up in Suffield and Enfield, Connecticut. At 84, he leaves behind his wife Patricia (once called a real looker before electricity), daughters Kelly Milner and Britt Rodriguez, and grandchildren Elias and Allie Rodriguez.
Bob was a Yankees fan back when the Yankees played real baseball and a Giants fan back when the Giants played real football. He graduated second in his high school class and first at U.S. Army Crypto School at Fort Gordon, Georgia. As a sergeant with the 101st Airborne, he jumped out of perfectly good airplanes back when they were all paratroopers.
He ran the family business, Dominick Auto Parts, in Enfield before opening Encore Consignment, Furnishings and Collectibles. Golf was his game. He managed to break 80 in the 1970s, played the Old Course at St. Andrews (shooting 90 and birdieing the famous Road Hole), and worked 12 PGA tours plus one Senior PGA. He was on a first-name basis with pros and celebrities, even talking with Bill Murray for nearly an hour one night.
Bob will take his eternal dirt nap at Hill Street Cemetery in Suffield beside his son Kyle. The plywood once laid on his grave for dancing will finally be removed. The family says enough is enough.
The family will have a visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.
