

Dean was born on June 26, 1938, in Wilson. He worked as a welder at Newport News Shipbuilding before settling in Long Beach in 1971, where he worked at the Brunswick Plant with Brown & Root and later CP&L. He loved to fish, play golf, spend time with his family, and take a nap in his favorite chair. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Lester Webb and Hattie Owens Webb, and his brothers Rudolph and Dalton.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Ann; daughter Regina Morrison (Craig) of Sunset Harbor; daughter Beverly Wescott (Tony) of Newark, Del.; grandson Johnathon Schronce; granddaughters Jordan Nichole Watson (Dan), Madison Wescott, and Alexis Cheatham (Sandy); two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Ayden Cheatham; sisters Wilma Askew and Connie Simmons; and brother Gilbert Webb. He also leaves behind many great friends, including golfing and breakfast buddies John Campbell and Otho Tew.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Oak Island on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a brief celebration of life service at 2:00 pm. Bright colors, especially orange, are encouraged.
