Born June 22, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Lily Mae Morefield and Wilbur Thomas. She is survived by one daughter, Addie Faye Maggard, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and surviving nieces and nephews, and their families. She was known as “Granny” by family and friends. To some, she was “Red.”
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11 o’clock in the morning at the Peacock Newnam and White Funeral Service Chapel in Southport with the Reverend Albert Cliff, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Cape Fear Memorial Park Highway 211 Southport.
Friends are invited to a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock in the evening at the funeral home.
