I lot of great childhood memories and a great friend grown-up in our teens the story’s I could tell of me and him growing up in the bottom haven’t seen him  our talk to him in years if you have a friend you have talked to in years reach out to them. miss you old buddy

Hadn’t seen Sam Wade in a long time but still considered him a good friend since childhood.  May Our Good Lord Bless and Keep him and his family Forever.

Sammie was a person that could get along with anyone, but if you got him mad with you, it was not for long but  he let you know it. I work with him on the base. I can remember when  I got my bike he told me you need to be careful because people  can't see you . He was talking about my height. I stayed in touch with him after he left the job. I know he enjoyed life to the fullness. 
To his wife and son, My thought and prayers are with you. He was a good person and he loved each one of you. Remember this: when you see a Red cardinal around you , in the yard they say it is a love one letting you know that  they are ok and still with you. I believe this . I see them a lot in my yard. ( lost my brother 1 year ago) Hold on to each other love because you need that.

Sammy and our “The Lancer bottom gang” we were around 10 or 11 years old.

Sammy Wade was a childhood friend to me and my brother Joe and my sister Denise when our family lived in The Lancer bottom neighborhood in Prestonsburg KY. back in the 1970s I’ll always remember Sammy as a great friend. He was always laughing and smiling and was a great storyteller. Sleeping out in his backyard in tents, having camp outs and climbing the hills of Eastern Kentucky, playing baseball and sandlot football as kids are are just a few of the precious memories of Sammy that are etched in my heart forever.  Over the course of time as many years passed on I would often find myself daydreaming as an adult remembering childhood Friends like Sammy Wade Wells. Life was so simple and innocent then and having a friend like Sammy was a true gift. I will never forget him. God comfort you Sam. You finished your race now rest in heavenly peace amen old friend amen.

He was a nice man, always willing to help someone.

I always enjoyed Sammie's company. We did some nice motorcycle rides together and one in particular to the Veterans Memorial in Goldsboro. We rode all day, but such fun and had nice lunch in Goldsboro. I am going to miss him, we had a lot in common as US Army Officers. He was a good man, Soldier, and the first friend I made when I joined Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association four years ago.  God Bless him.
