Susan was born October 4, 1946 in Savannah, Georgia, daughter of the late JB and Letha Warth. She grew up in Southport and graduated from Southport High School, Class of 1965. Susan went to East Carolina University and UNC - Wilmington. She loved to read and write, she was a freelance writer for 25 years. Susan owned the Red and White General Store in Long Beach with her husband. Later she owned Philomena Moultrie's Gift Shop. After retirement, she and her husband Johnie traveled in their RV all across the country.
Mrs. Vereen is survived by her son, Erich Vereen and wife Sheri; a grandson, Sheridan Vereen; and a sister, June Hutson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Vereen, Jr.; and a step-son, Johnie Vereen, III.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
