Thomas Robert Gill

Thomas Robert "TR" Gill, age 75, of Oak Island, NC; passed away on January 9, 2026 in Bolivia, NC. Tom was born on February 2, 1950 in Springfield, IL ; a son of the late Jack and MaryEllen Apblett Gill.

He was an employee of Duke Energy, who retired after 33 years of service as a Nuclear Manager with a Bachelor of Science degree. He enjoyed playing golf as a member of the Oak Island Golf Course, fishing, boating and a passionate follower of the University of Georgia football team.

Tom (TR) is survived by his wife, Susan Davis Gill of the home, children, Robert L. Gill (Jennifer) of Easton, Maryland, daughter Carrie Gill Rizzo (Chuck) of Sykesville, Maryland, sister JoEllen Gill Harden of Eastman, Ga., grandchildren, Hannah Gill, Jack Gill (Sofia), Carly Gill, Ella Grace Gill, Charlie Rizzo and Benny Rizzo, Great Grandchildren, River Gill and Henry Gill. He was preceded in death by his identical twin brother Terry Gill and his parents Jack and MaryEllen Gill.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Tom requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The First Tee of Brunswick County or Brunswick County Animal Services.
