Tina Joyner Lewis, age 59, of Leland, North Carolina entered her heavenly home on Thursday, October 7, 2021 after an extended illness. Tina was born on August 28, 1962 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Roy Joyner Sr. and Doris Knight. She was preceded in death by her brother Roy Joyner Jr. and her son Anthony Joyner.
Tina was a passionate wife, mother, “Nana”, and friend. She exhibited unconditional love and devotion to all she encountered, including her Facebook “peeps”. Tina used her God given talents by serving as a pianist in churches within the Wilmington area. Her creativity shined through her love for the arts in drawings, paintings, and musical capabilities. In the 1990’s, she served as a New Hanover County 911 operator. She is survived by the love of her life of 36 years, Larry Lewis; daughters Amber Lewis and Angela Booth; grandchildren, Serenity Joyner, London Joyner, Alyssa Lewis-Dunlap, Remedi Bass; siblings, Michelle Khalil (Mohammed) and Vance Joyner; stepmom, Donna Joyner; mother-in-law, Iris Prince; sister-in-law, Velvet Lewis; brother-in-law, Kelly Lewis; and six nieces and nephews: Kiya and Hana Khalil, Tanner, Jaina, Marissa, and Paxton Lewis; and many other extended family and friends.
Tina will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her sense of humor, and her ability to make you feel special.
Family and friends will be received at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Long Leaf Baptist Church: 317 Shipyard Blvd. Wilmington, NC 28412 followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm. Please join us after the service in the fellowship hall for a celebration of life meal.
