Walter "Craig" Thomas

Mr. Thomas was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on March 27, 1942. He was raised in Atlantic City. Mr. Thomas was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an HVAC technician for 35 years. He retired and moved to Southport in 2004 and became a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and he was also active with the over-55 group of Southport. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marjorie Thomas and his step-mother, Bertha Thomas.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Bonnie (Murie) Thomas of the home; daughters and their families, Karin and Jim Long and Marjorie of Potomac, Maryland; and Janet and Jeff Bleau and Thomas of Savannah, Georgia; his brother Gary Thomas and his family of Kalamazoo, Michigan; uncle and aunt, Reverend Dr. Charles and Nancy Wood of Southern Pines, North Carolina; cousins Anne Steppe of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Stephen Wood of Durham, North Carolina and their families.

A memorial service will be 11:00am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Southport.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church Music Fund, 205 East Moore Street, Southport, NC 28461.
