Mr. Heafner was born June 3, 1946, son of the late William and Margaret Heafner. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Wes was retired from the US Postal Service. He loved sports, fishing, and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Heafner; two sons, Luke Heafner and wife Allison, and Jon Heafner; two grandchildren, Kendall Heafner and Kinsley Heafner; a sister, Wanda Heafner Hartis.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Oak Island. The family will have visitation at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Monroe, NC.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Oak Island, 4608 E. Oak Island Dr., Oak Island NC 28465 or flowers can be sent to Peacock Newnam White Funeral Home at 1411 N. Howe Street, Southport NC 28461.
