Mrs. Rhodes was born June 1, 1945 in Madison County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late LD and Jessie Fender. Mrs. Rhodes had been a resident of Southport from 1970 until she moved to Shallotte in 2018.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynette Lawrence; a sister, Phyllis Bradley (Billy); a step-son, Vance Rhodes (Teresa); six grandchildren; a great-grandson; two nieces; numerous friends, especially the special ones at Shallotte Villas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rhodes; her son, Scotty Collins; and a step-son Jerry Rhodes.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Cape Fear Memorial Park Cemetery.
