Adrienne Ruth (Silberberg) Kotlove, 88, of Parkland, FL, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, following a long battle with dementia. The disease gradually took away her ability to walk, speak and show emotion. But through it all it was clear she never wanted to burden those around her – and even in Adrienne’s last days she was calm and thankfully quite comfortable – one final display of the selflessness that defined her.
While not flashy and never being one to seek the spotlight, Adrienne’s impact will be felt for years, if not generations. She leaves behind her partner of nearly 67 years, Irwin, along with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren which today number 37 – with two more on the way! It’s hard to imagine leaving behind a more impactful legacy.
In addition, as a kindergarten teacher for more than 30 years – first in her hometown of Buffalo, NY before moving to Coral Springs, FL in 1979, Adrienne has positively impacted, and set the foundation for, hundreds if not thousands of children. Over the years it was a common occurrence in/around Coral Springs for one of her past students to run into her and beam “Mrs. Kotlove, I could never forget the wonderful memories made in your classroom.”
Adrienne Kotlove was born in Buffalo on July 31, 1936, to Sam and Tessie (Erenstoft) Silberberg. She graduated from Bennett High School and the University of Buffalo, where she met Irwin. The couple was married on June 1, 1958, setting the course for a family tree (and legacy) that will be hard to match.
In addition to Irwin, Adrienne is survived by her children: Dennis, Joan (and Marc) Levy, Jill (and Greg) Cohn, and Doug (and Sarah) Kotlove; her grandchildren: Matthew (and Caroline) Kotlove, Allison (and Assaf) Ofir, Rachel (and Ryan) Dubois, Noah (and Tatiana) Kotlove, Jennifer (and Conor) O’Neill, Emily (and Eric) Federman, Bryan (and Taylor) Cohn, Sam (and Katie) Kotlove, Amanda Levy, Andrew Cohn, Sophie Kotlove, and Elizabeth Kotlove; and her great-grandchildren: Margaret, Charles, Jackson, Olivia, Emery, Layla, Coby, Emmy, Dylan, and Isabelle.
The family wishes to thank Adrienne’s aides over the past five years – Beverly, Elizabeth and Enid – who showed so much love and compassion to both Adrienne and Irwin. You are, and always will be, a part of the Kotlove family.
Chapel services will be at 2:30 pm at Menorah Gardens & Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 21100 West Griffin Rd., Southwest Ranches, Florida 33332.
