

Calvin J, Miller, a loving husband and father, peacefully passed away in his home, Saturday, May 18, 2024. He was born in Sharon CT to Arnold Miller and Georgina (Rouse) Miller. He grew up in Hopewell Junction, NY, later raising his family in Milford CT, and then Parkland FL.
Cal is survived by his wife Susan, and his 4 children, Calvin Miller and partner, Michael, Curt Miller and wife Karen, Carolyn Bouchard and husband, Brett, Christopher Miller and wife Ana and his stepdaughter Joella Doobrow and husband, Ivan. He is predeceased by his late wife of 47 years, Carol (Dusick) Miller and his brother Arnold (Kent) Miller and his grandson, Joshua Michael Miller. He shared his love to his 13 grandchildren Brian Miller and wife Emily, Patrick Miller and wife Sarah, Sean Miller and wife Catie, Christopher Miller, Taylor Koebel and husband Josh, Calvin Crocker, Catherine Crocker, Justin Miller, Carolann Miller, Alana Doobrow, Jenna Doobrow, Austin Bouchard, Nico Bouchard, and one great granddaughter Charlie Miller. He was brother to Bruce Miller and wife Mary, Marilyn Soules, and Judy Jurewicz.
Cal spent his professional career spanning over 6 decades in the food distribution business. He retired at 77 years old as the President and CEO of Associated Grocers of Florida. He served as Chairman of the Board New England Wholesale Food Distributors Association and Treasurer and Secretary of the Connecticut Food Association. Also, served on R.O.F.D.A. Board of Directors and National Grocers Association. He was named in 1985 the Man of Year for Connecticut Food Association and later Man of the Year for March of Dimes. He was invited by Japan to represent the United States in the grocery wholesale business. In addition, Cal and his brother, Bruce, formed Miller’s Development Company which fueled his lifelong passion for real estate. He was also on various HOA boards including the latest, Parkland Golf and Country Club.
Cal has received countless accolades and special recognitions for his philanthropic work and community service. He was incredibly modest but those who know him will describe him as a brilliant businessman.
What an amazing, accomplished, respected, selfless, fiercely loyal and sincere man!
There will be a private memorial service held for Calvin Miller.
