Michael Linder passed away on Friday, June 27, surrounded by his son, Rabbi Eric Linder, and his life partner of more than 56 years, Lois Linder.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Lois; his son, Rabbi Eric Linder (Emily); his grandsons, Aaron and David; his brothers, Peter Linder (Jennifer) and Rabbi John Linder (Nancy); and many loving family members and friends.
Throughout his life, Michael was deeply devoted to his family, friends, and community. He was a passionate advocate for social justice and equality, embodying the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam—the call of repairing the world.
Michael was also quick to laugh and share a joke. He would do anything for a friend, and will be remembered as a gentle, kind and intelligent soul. Words cannot capture the countless cherished memories made with him.
Funeral arrangements are currently being finalized. The funeral will take place in South Florida at Menorah Gardens & Funeral Chapels, with one night of shiva also to be held in South Florida. A memorial service and/or shiva will also be held in Athens, GA, with details to be shared once scheduled.
