I met Ronald Darvin in 2007 through his son, Michael Darvin, my best friend. I enjoy laughing and Ron likes telling jokes; for many reasons he and I hit it off right away. From the very start, he opened up his heart, his arms, and home to me; even calling me his son. It is not easy to gain my trust but I had complete trust and faith in him. Though we are not related biologically, in many ways, he is was like father to me, he help me emotionally (something my own parents struggle to do); he celebrated my victories (both big and small) and cheered me up when I was feeling down, making feel worthy of being.

When I come over, he stands  up from his chair and he can give me a great hug, lovingly embracing me with those his big arms. I remember him as a hard-working and punctual man. Despite being stressed from a long day of work, he walked through the door with a fresh attitude. He was a man who loves to laugh and make others laugh. He alway seems to know the right words to say when I needed to hear it. I regret not visiting him more often, I just assume that there would be more time but I guess time wait for no one. That’s why I will dedicate the reminder of my life to loving everyone I can before it’s too late.

Ron Darvin, thank you for taking care of my car, for helping me feel better when I was sad, for celebrating all my big and small victories with me, and thank you for opening up my eyes and show me a different way to live; but most importantly, thank you for loving me! You have no idea how that has changed me forever! I love you Ron and I miss you much! May you rest in peace and find solace in knowing that I will look after your family ones like how you did for me.

Ronnie was the best partner for a morning chat and breakfast at Bake Shack. He will be very missed. I remember he always told me: I come from a place and time in history where you work an hour and earn your wage. That’s all I know. No fancy finance.

It is rare to have someone in your life, where all of your memories of that person are good ones. Uncle Ronnie was one of those people for me. He had a childlike quality that was engaging, endearing and warm. I connected with him when my own life had just begun and had the pleasure of watching my son make a similar connection on Uncle Ronnie’s brief visits to NY. There always seems to be time…until there is none. I send my deepest condolences to Michele, Brittany and Michael. My Uncle Ronnie will be missed.

Uncle Ronny was always smiling, joking, and having a good time. This pic shows him with his brother Bill (my dad) at Peter Luger’s in 2018, on my dad’s 75th birthday. Uncle Ronny will always be remembered by me as my cool uncle who would play frisbee with me at the beach, take me for a bike ride (watch out for alligators!), or take me to Carlos & Pepe’s for Mexican food in his convertible. My sincere condolences to the family and to anyone who was lucky enough to know him and laugh with him. He is gone too soon and will be missed by everyone.

I have so many memories of you Ron, going back to when you and Michelle opened your home to me and made it feel like a second home. A home I never realized I needed until I was there and felt safe, accepted and loved. And there’s so many stories I could tell involving all of the antics and shenanigans me, Mike, Brittany, Samm, Sabrina and just all of our motley crew from back then that bring a smile to my face and tears to my eyes of happiness but this video is my favorite memory. Seeing you walk B down the aisle encompasses all the qualities about you I admired most. How proud you always were and always will be of your children, the joy on your face of being there to walk your daughter down the aisle knowing she is marrying a good man who will love her right, and that sassy swagger of yours because no memory would be complete if I was remiss to mention your unmatched sense of humor, wit and dang it - absolute confidence that bordered on arrogance that you were always right. Here’s to you Ron. May we all be as blessed to live life like you did and do it with even half of the swagger you brought to it <3 Love you AAF

Sending love hugs and prayers for strength for all of Ronnie’s family and friends. The news of his passing was a shock and still very surreal. He was such a great uncle and I have so many memories from when I was little and he took my sister and I to such fun places when we came to Florida to visit. He started a tradition of bringing us to Carlos and Pepe’s for huge Strawberry Daquiris (virgin of course until we were old enough for real ones.) and their amazing tuna dip after the beach. We brought our kids there also because we had so many fun times there.  Thank you for letting us live at your house when we first moved to FL. Thanks for always taking care of my car. Thanks for being a great brother to my mom and taking her to so many shows with you! She loved that! We had a few fun ski trips with our entire family I’ll never forget. And of course all the Xmas eves I had at my house that you came to! You will be so missed by many!!! Love you Uncle Ronnie!!! Hope you are with Nona, your mom, up in heaven. Your were part of my Bake Shack family.  Words cant describe the loss I feel.  Everyday for the last 9 or so years you've been in for breakfast.  We would sit  and talk shop and swap stories ,talk about family and had countless laughs. As I sit at Bake Shack writing this I keep looking up for your car to pull in or see you walk in the door

Can someone wake me up from this horrible nightmare. Dad, I love you so much. Or am I supposed to say loved? I don’t think so because I still love you! None of this feels real!? Like it can’t be. I know you are playing some cruel sick joke on us and I’m gonna wake up tomorrow and you will be back in your condo, inviting us over to come swimming in your pool, sharing your paradise. I miss you dad. I miss you more than words could say. We all thought you were invincible. You were literally the toughest man I’ve ever met in my life. You shaped me into the woman I am today. I thought you didn’t text me back because you just didn’t feel like talking. I was sure I would hear back from you the next morning like I always would. The call or text never came. I am still waiting for that call. Please dad just call me and tell me this isn’t real. Tell me I can come over next Sunday and swim . Tell me you’ll be here every dolphins game. Tell me you still have years left and I can still call you and tell you everything, come to you with my problems that you would still help me solve at 40 years old. Yoh were the smartest man I knew. You don’t deserve to leave this way. I am in shock. I am broken. I don’t even know what I am feeling because emotions have never been my thing but I am feeling so many emotions right now dad. Please come back to me. I need you and I love you. I will see you again one day dad. Rest in peace and I pray you are watching over me and I pray you see how many people loved you and cared about you. I just pray!

I love you OG. We spoke nearly every week. I can still hear you telling me about your crazy weekends! You loved riding that damn bike! You were a great father figure to me. I owe you so much more than an obituary. Thank you for always believing in me, giving me food to eat, a home to sleep at, and treating me like one of your own sons. I will never forget the moves we made, the memories we made, all those countless nights at that table chopping up insane conversations. I miss you dad #2 and will always love you to the end!!! Thank you for being such a huge part of my life.

Endless great memories on the patio, smoking, laughing, and listening to OG’s wisdom. Thank you for all the stories, advice, and good times. Your spirit will live on in everyone who knew and loved you. I hope heaven has a porch where the stories never end. Rest peacefully, OG.

Words cannot describe how much I miss you. The unexpected nature of how everything happened is still very surreal and I do not want to believe it but unfortunately it's becoming more and more real everyday. I miss talking to you in the mornings and everyday that I wake up you're the only thing on my mind. I can only pray that you are watching from above and you see how much you were loved by so many people. You were the toughest man I ever knew and the best father anyone could've asked for. Your compassion, caring and understanding along with your wit and humor made you somebody that was unforgettable. I wish I could have one more day with you just to talk and hug you. You will live on in my heart forever. I promise to stay strong for the family and I will never forget the wonderful life you provided for myself and the family. I never thought in a million years I would be typing this right now as it's one of the most difficult things I have ever dealt with. My soul feels tarnished without you here and I know you always used to tell me that "time heals all wounds." Time feels frozen for me right now and I just wanted to let you know that I Love you more than you could imagine and I talk to you every night (whether you hear me or not). It is so weird without you here dad. I feel like I lost a piece of myself in this process. I Love you so damn much and I hope you're in a better place now. I pray that you're watching down on us. I pray that you can see Bailey grow up and most importantly, I pray that you Rest In Peace. We will always remember you Dad. Damn I miss you.
