Sherri,
As the principal at one of your assigned schools, I always found you to be fair and honest. You were open and frank, and your support for teachers was unwavering. You and I were always able to meet in the middle to solve any problems. I especially liked the times we ran into each other at Macy's and we were able to really get to know each other.  I will miss you....

Aunt Sherri,

You are so deeply missed... While no longer suffering, you passed far too soon.  

How privileged was I to be a part of your family these past 13+ years.  I truly admired your keen mind, sharp wit, and warrior spirit.  Our times spent together riffing at family gatherings and hanging in NYC will always be remembered. 

I know that you meant everything to Andrea and provided her unconditional support, guidance, and loving kindness since day one.  Thank you for that.  And thank you for having lived fully and serving as a role model for so many.

Sherri was always there for me when I was a UTD steward. Many times she would look for a reason to visit so we could share coffee and just talk. She always gave me the best advice and made my job upholding the contract a breeze. She loved her children and her kids at Norwood. We were in the same feeder pattern until she went to work at UTD. Such a wonderful lady. RIP sweet Sherri. Love you! Marsha Shirey

Due to Sherri's efforts we were able to organize and be represented by Teamsters and have a Union Contract.  She also had a great sense of humor and will be missed but is enjoying herself in heaven!

I saw Sherri a few times when I joined the UTD staff, so I never got to meet her for who she was,...nevertheless everyday I walk in UTD I see the footsteps she left behind for us to fill in...my condolences go out to Sherri's family.

You were a very strong woman,  a courageous fighter and you will always be remembered that way.  Your daughter Karen resembles you so much. Not just physically but in her strong character and demeanor. I want to thank you for teaching Karen to be who she is and being so supportive of her. Karen is my best friend and without her I would be lost in more ways than one. You were her mentor, her protector, her best friend and you loved and supported her unconditionally and that is what has made Karen who she is today. Even though you may not be with us on Earth in physical form, I know you will still live on in the hearts of all who knew you and your legacy will live on. May you rest in peace.

Oh my Mon Sherri, my second mom, my friend, and my mentor, I could write a book detailing our experiences together. I am where I am at in part because of you. You taught me things that only a second mom could teach. You will be so greatly missed. It was a true blessing having known you. You will always be in my heart. Love ya!

Sherri was a great union activist, a great organizer, and a friend who was always there for me my members and even my family members.  Sherri worked hard for all union members and she was greatly missed when she retired last year. She was a fighter in more ways then one.  Her biggest battle is over and now she can rest in peace with no more pain and suffering.  I was blessed to have known her and my prayers are with her family she has left behind. God bless!

Although it's been a while since we've seen each other, I think of you often.  I learned so much from you and admired your strength and love and respect for others.  You are a fighter and a pillar of strength.  May you rest in peace.  ❤

Although I didnt grow up knowing your side of the family, when we did finally meet, you especially embraced me with open arms. This was a testament to your kind and generous soul.  The few times I got to share with you will remain as beautiful memories. I will miss you very much.

I feel so blessed to have not only worked with Sherri but to also call her a best friend. I will miss her greatly; we had many laughs and yes, tears. She had a good heart and truly cared. Sherri touched so many lives and is now resting in peace. Sending my thoughts and prayers.

She knew.  Sherri knew how to make you feel loved. She knew how to make you laugh. She knew all about short buses, repeat customers, and getting the job done. Sherri knew how to have fun. She knew how to endear so many of us to her, yet never be mistaken for warm and fuzzy. Warm and funny, yes. Fuzzy? Well, maybe the hair on occasion. Sherri knew how to show kindness... when you most needed it. Near or far, she knew. Sherri knew how to fight the good fight, for UTD, for people in general, and against this thing that took her too soon. Sherri was so very loved and admired.
 
What I know is that I will miss her. I know that it was my great privilege to work with her, learn from her, and to have had her grace my life. I know that family was absolutely everything to Sherri, and that they will carry the very special legacy that only she could leave. We all knew Sherri's smile. We all know stories that will be our memories of her. We all weep for our loss of her. We loved her. She knew.

Sherri changed lives and made such a difference in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.  May she rest in peace knowing she served Him well.

The first time I met Sherri was during her interview process for joining the staff at UTD.  All the directors were asked to interview the various candidates for UTD positions.  After speaking with her for only a few minutes, I knew she'd bring a wonderful dimension to UTD. Our work and personal friendship grew with the passing of time. It was a privilege and an honor to count Sherri among my group of friends.  I am indebted to her for that friendship, her wise counsel and compassion. I respected her adherence to justice and fairness despite often insurmountable obstacles. But it's her broad smile and enduring sense of humor that brings forth my fondest memories of her. I hope that all of her family is comforted knowing how many people loved and cherished her. May her memory be a blessing.
