It’s with both sadness and gratitude that we remember a truly wonderful family man who left us too soon at the age of 79, after battling ALS for several years. He lived a full, engaged life—one defined by hard work, respect for others, and an endless love and willingness to do whatever he could for his family and friends. The impact he made on all of us is hard to put into words, but his legacy carries on in the stories we share and the memories we hold close.
1. A Career to Be Proud Of
He was one of those people who really loved what he did. Over the years, he worked his way up to become an accomplished professional and executive—someone everyone respected and a mentor and advocate to many. If you needed advice, or just someone to listen, his door was always open. He valued honesty, integrity, and the energy of others who wanted to contribute. His business acumen was unparalleled; and those he connected with knew who he was, where he stood, and that he would be by their side through thick and thin.
2. A True Family Man
Family meant everything to him. As a husband, he was loving, loyal, and always supportive—a real partner in every sense. His marriage was built on laughter, understanding, and mutual goal to build a loving and loyal family. Their home has always been a warm place where everyone felt welcome.
As a dad, he taught his kids about life, the importance of discipline, and how to navigate the different impediments you encounter as you mature and become parents. He not only led by example, but he was ever-present and always available to discuss any concern and to problem solve. That was dad – it was just natural for him. He never got flustered. Never. He seemed to have an inner calm that he projected, especially when engaging with his children. His greatest joy came from seeing his family happy and thriving.
3. Sports Fan and Golf Buddy
He absolutely loved sports—whether he was glued to the TV watching any South Florida sport team or out on the golf course with friends. Golf wasn’t just a hobby for him; it was a way to put that incredibly talented brain to a different test – figuring out how to improve his game – while also using it to unwind, have some fun, and connect with people. He could talk about sports for hours, re-living classic moments or analyzing the latest efforts of the local sports teams.
4. Always There for Others
If you knew him, you knew he was one of the most selfless people around. He was always ready to lend a hand, give his time, or just listen when you needed to talk. His kindness was quiet and genuine—he never did things for the spotlight, just because helping others was part of who he was. No one knew that more than his family and friends. His generous spirit inspired everyone to be a little better and to look out for one another.
5. Remembering Him
As we look back on his life, we can’t help but smile at all the good times—family gatherings and just sitting around watching sports and telling stories. He taught us to cherish the small moments and to laugh often. Though we may not have realized it until now, he always knew that a sense of humor was a life-extending elixir.
His family and friends already miss him dearly, but we know his spirit lives on in every laugh, cheer, and swing. We intend to do our best to celebrate him by living as he did—loving deeply, being there for others, and using a sense of humor to laugh through life. Rest easy, knowing you made the world a better place just by being in it. We’ll do our best to value the lessons you taught us, and your memory will always bring a smile to our faces.
