

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Koenig, a cherished wife, devoted mother, adored Mima, beloved sister, and treasured sister-in-law. Susan departed this world on October 14, 2023 leaving a void that can never be filled.
Susan was born on April 27, 1942 to a loving family, and from the very beginning, her warm and nurturing spirit shone brightly. She grew up in Oceanside, NY, where she cultivated her strong values of love, kindness, and empathy.
Susan's journey led her to the love of her life, Michael Koenig, and they were married on June 28, 1962. Together, they embarked on a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Susan also had a very special relationship with her brother-in-law, Sherwin Koenig, who took great care of her after Michael’s death in 1998.
As a devoted mother, Susan poured her heart and soul into raising her daughters. She was the pillar of strength, the shoulder to lean on, and the constant source of love and support for her family. Her love and guidance shaped their lives and will continue to do so for generations to come.
Susan's role as "Mima" was one that brought her immeasurable joy. She relished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her nurturing and playful spirit made her the ultimate Mima, creating an enduring bond that will be treasured for a lifetime. She was looking forward to becoming a Great Mima in early November.
Susan is survived by her daughter Shari Daniel and her husband Bill, her cherished grandchildren; Samantha Jelks and her husband Connor, Brantley Daniel and his wife Kayla, Randi Baker and her husband Matthew and Morgan Daniel. She is also survived by her brother Norman Hershkowitz and his wife Joan, numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends all of whom held special places in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Ruth Hershkowitz, her husband Michael Koenig, her daughter Caryn Rogers, her brother-in-law Sherwin Koenig and her sister Marcia Blumenthal.
Throughout her life, Susan touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed shopping, mahjong and roulette. Her passion for cooking was well-known to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Although Susan has left us, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will serve as a guiding light for those who had the privilege of knowing her.
