Alfred Schnut, 77, of Montague, formerly of Sparta, NJ passed away on February 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Alfred was born in Flogeln, Germany and came to the United States in 1954 as a 17 year old. He worked as a machinist for Alpha Wasserman in Caldwell, NJ, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Deutscher Club of Clark, NJ for many years. Alfred is survived by his beloved wife Ruth Weaver Schnut; loving father of Christine Coats, Carolyn McLaughlin, Johnny and Albert Schnut; stepfather of Edward and Kenneth Crissey and loving grandfather of Evan, Travis and Corinne. A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 10am-12noon with a 12noon service at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. Interment will follow at Sparta Cemetery.
