Tony was born on July 4, 1946 to Antonio DeVita and Sophia Cegelecki in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from James Madison High School in Brooklyn, NY he went on to earn a degree in Applied Science at the Academy of Aeronautics in New York, NY. Tony then went on to serve in the United States Army from 1968-1970 and then enjoyed a long and successful career in computer software sales.
Tony met Carol Pantazakos, and they wed in 1979, going on to have 2 children, Andrew and Alexis.
Tony was predeceased by his mother and father and is survived by his wife Carol, son Andrew, daughter Alexis, daughter-in-law Alexis, son-in-law Gary, and grandchildren Annabella, Molly, Carolynn and Michael. He was a beloved father and grandfather, passionate about his commitment to his family and friends.
He was an avid golfer, huge hockey fan and committed member of the communities he lived in (Fayson Lakes, NJ and Sandpiper Bay, NC). Tony's sense of humor, positive outlook on life and the joy he brought to everyone around him will be forever missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17th from 3 - 7 PM with a service at 6:30PM at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871. Interment will be held on Friday, 11:30AM at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery Route 94 Sparta, NJ.
