Arthur William Dey

SPARTA- Arthur W. Dey, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his residence with his loving wife by his side, at the age of 83. A resident of Sparta since 1977, previously residing in Belleville, Kinnelon and Cinnaminson New Jersey. Arthur was born in Newark, NJ, son of Arthur W. and Lillian Dey. Brother to Karen Stafford and Robert Dey. Sweethearts since 7th grade, husband of 63 years to Margaret Dey. Father to Steven Dey of Northeast Maryland, Susan Davenport of Franklin New Jersey, Patti Cowart and her husband Kenny of Beaufort South Carolina, Scott Dey and his wife Robin of Stillwater New Jersey, and Dolores Dey of Branson Missouri. Grandfather to Pamela Zinser, Steven Dey Jr., Tracy Davenport, Shelly Davenport, Dean Cowart, Kelli Hortman, Rebecca Dey and Catherine Dey. Great grandfather of nine. Arthur served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, reaching the rank of Sergeant. A graduate of Farleigh Dickenson University, he retired from Polytex Inc. in 1997. Arthur enjoyed gardening, bird watching, Frank Sinatra and Schaefer Beer memorabilia. Friends and family are invited Friday 3-4 and 6-8 pm to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. An 11am funeral chapel service will be held Saturday followed by interment in Sparta Cemetery.
