Carmen moved to Union City, New Jersey in 1989 for a new and very promising life. She graduated from Berkley College in April 2006 with a degree in accounting and had a broad career in sales, retail management and catering management.

On October 17, 2015 she married Richard, a New York City Firefighter and her first and only online date. On January 4, 2014, October 14, 2016 and November 7, 2019 respectively, she welcomed into the world her two adorable sons and beautiful daughter, who were the most important part of her life.

Carmen was a caring, loving and devoted Mother to her three beautiful children. She was a loving selfless person to her husband. She adored her Brother and Sisters and always made an effort to spend quality time with them. Carmen always gave 100% in everything she did, and would not settle for less.

Carmen's smile and laughter lit up a room and brought so many people joy.She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, loved ones and those who knew her.

Although it seems like a lifetime ago. Memories of our childhood flooded my mind when I heard the news on Saturday afternoon. I was completely devastated, heartbroken. I remember you and I, in Ms. Rodriguez’s 5th grade bilingual class. Learning English together. Being sent together to deliver the coffee she made for the other teachers. You with your radiant smile, your outgoing personality, like a ray of sunshine. Then we moved into the same building and became literally inseparable.

We got each other through so much those years, our families became so close. Then years passed and life happened and we lost touch. It seems like a lifetime ago that we played outside until dusk in the summer or watched music videos on MTV at your house. The year you me and my sister danced that silly merengue song in that talent show, and laughed until our belly’s hurt while practicing. You were always so vibrant, ambitious, and full of life. I’m proud of the woman you became, of the life you lived. The beautiful family you created. Thank you for the time we shared as kids, I’ll never forget you Carmencita. God bless your family, husband and children, and may he bring them comfort at this very difficult time. May you Rest In Peace beautiful.
