Catherine M. Higgins, 93, of Newton, NJ passed away on March 16, 2012. Catherine was born in Blooming Grove, PA and was a resident of Chester and Manahawkin, NJ before moving to Newton in 2008. She was a secretary at Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton, NJ for 35 years retiring in 1983. Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband Norman E. Higgins. She is survived by her devoted children: Elizabeth C. Higgins, Teresa Wallice, Norman E. Higgins, Jr and Patrick W. Higgins. She is also survived by her brother William Cowie and 5 loving grandchildren and 6 cherished great-grandchildren. Friends may call 2-4, 7-9pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, 210 Route 206 North Sandyston, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at church. Interment will be held at 1:30pm Thursday, March 22, 2012 at General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
