Constance Joy Heckenberger

Sparta, NJ - Constance Joy Heckenberger (Goepel) went home to the Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at her residence, with her loving family by her side. She was 74. Constance was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Frederick and Katherine (Pfisterer) Goepel. She was one of seven siblings. She presently resided for the last 40 years in Sparta/ Lake Mohawk. Mrs. Heckenberger was previously employed for seven years as a billing specialist, with Tiffany & Co. of Parsippany, retiring in 2003. Early on Constance was actively involved in the Junior Women’s Club of Sparta, and many of the Intra Clubs at Lake Mohawk. Over the last 7 years she was very involved with the Knoll Heights Community especially the gardening and bridge club. She was a congregant of the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta, and longtime member of the bell choir. Mrs. Heckenberger is survived by a son; R Scott and his wife Lisa of Sparta, a daughter; R Joy Leader and her husband Michael of Debary, Florida, a brother; Robert Goepel of North Hills, Pa, and two granddaughters; Amanda Heckenberger and Kaitlyn Clemens. Friends and family are invited to the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 10 to 11 am followed by a memorial service. Memorial contributions in Constance’s name may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Charitable Foundation 99 Sparta Avenue Newton, NJ 07860. Arrangements are being handled by Goble Funeral Home 22 main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871.
