July 6, 1942 - June 11, 2025
It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Cosmo Joseph "Joe" Baccarella—a devoted husband, an extraordinary father, and a loving grandfather whose life radiated warmth, humor, and generosity. Joe passed away on June 11, 2025.
Joe was born on July 6, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, and spent his life chasing adventures, spending time with his family, and fostering great friendships. He believed that life was meant to be lived to the fullest, and he did just that—whether it was skiing, scuba diving, playing tennis, going to the gym, or reading a good book on the beach. He had love in his heart and a spirit that brought light and joy to everyone around him.
Joe married the love of his life, Sharen, in 1985. Their bond was one of true partnership and enduring affection. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to their family. Joe was the proud father of Susie, Jen, and Brian, whom he considered his greatest accomplishments.
Joe held a degree in engineering. He was an ambitious entrepreneur who built multiple businesses. He maintained an incredible work ethic right up until he retired at the age of 80. He was a charismatic storyteller who lit up a room, a jokester, a prankster, and an incredibly loving father and husband. He made it his mission to fill his children's lives with guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. In his days of retirement, he enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren and vacationing with his family.
Though we mourn his passing, we also celebrate and remember a life that was full and wonderful. We will carry his stories in our hearts forever.
Joe was predeceased by his loving parents, Joseph and Rose. He is survived by his wife, Sharen; children, Susie, Jen, and Brian; brother, Pasquale; sister-in-law, Elaine; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Additionally, he is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
