I worked with Derek (DJ) for many years. I always found him to be respectful and ready to help. I know his earthly suffering is over and he is free of pain and reunited with his loved ones who went before him. My condolences to his family.

My heart breaks for the family's loss of this wonderful young man. While I didn't get to know Derek as an adult, I do remember him as a child running around the yard of his grandparents' home on Clark Street. This young man, lost far too soon, beat all the odds with grace, love and good humor. He will never be forgotten and will live on the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him and love him. God bless his family and give them comfort and strength during this time of great loss. Love you now and always Nance.
