Doris J Conner

June 23, 1939May 30, 2018

Doris Joan Conner, 78 of Oak Ridge, NJ, died May 30, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Newark, NJ and eventually settled in the Cozy Lake section of Oak Ridge. She is survived by her four children, Christopher, Claudia and Casey Conner and Colleen Aull, her three grandchildren, Nicole Oliver, Vanessa Caicedo and Grayson Aull and two sisters, Geri Pozzi and Wendy Yager. She was predeceased by her husband Frank E (Buddy) Conner and her sister Gladys Ott. So, what can we tell you about Doris? Well, everyone who knew her enjoyed her quick wit and humorous sarcasm and she was always eager to share it with you. If you had a joke or funny story, she wanted to hear it. If you called her on the phone, you’d better find your comfy chair because the woman could talk… A LOT! Her life was not without its fair share of achievements but we won’t bore you with an extensive list. Let’s just say that she pretty much ran the gamut. In the end, was diagnosed with cancer, which some would say she needed like she needed a hole in the head. Well, she did have a hole in the head from brain surgery so, overachiever is probably the best single word description one could use. We love our mother, grandmother, sister, wife, aunt and friend. And we will not mourn her with sadness and sorrow. We will celebrate her with the same humor and sarcasm she gave to us for her entire life.

We were saddened to hear of Doris' passing. She was a long time neighbor and friend here on Cozy Lake, and she did a lot for our community. We will always remember her passion for the lake, love for her family, quick wit, and willingness to always contribute. We are sorry we can't make the service today, but our sympathies and love go out to her family and friends.

That is a perfect life summary! I will always remember Aunt Doris for her humor and positive attitude - nothing ever got her down for long. I will remember her always as a happy soul
