Edna Claire Lois Moriarty

Edna was born on July 7, 1945, and was raised in Hoboken, NJ. She graduated Demarest High School in 1962 and graduated from Jersey City State Teachers College in 1966. In 1964, she married the love of her life Richard D. Moriarty; they raised their six children in Glen Ridge and spent their summers at Lake Mohawk in Sparta.

Edna was dedicated to managing REM Realty. Her love for flowers inspired her to create the Glen Ridge Florist. Edna was a member of the Sparta United Methodist Church for more than thirty years. She adored her three dogs, birds, the Cayman Islands, Holstens in Bloomfield, NJ, and shopping!

Edna was so kind, thoughtful and generous. She loved to host birthday and holiday parties and invited all!

Edna was predeceased by her husband, Richard D. Moriarty, her eldest daughter Susan and sister Helene Larson. Edna is survived by her children, Richard, Mimi, Brendian, Katie and Craig, and her grandchildren, Mac, Gretchen, Tucker, Kit, Lily, Maggie, Paige, Chase, Campbell, Collin, Cora, Maelee, Brinnley, Sophie and Talon and sister Barbara Jost.

Arrangements are under the direction of Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St. Sparta. Visitation will be Friday, May 26th, from 2 pm-4 pm and 6 pm- 8 pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 27th 10 am at the Sparta United Methodist Church with interment to follow at the Sparta Cemetery.
