

Ed is survived by his daughter, Pamela Jones her husband Joseph, his son, Bryan Sauter and his wife Lisa, and his grandchildren, Sarah Fenner, Olivia Jones, Brianna Sauter, and Christian Sauter. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Sauter, with whom he was married for 58 wonderful years.
Edward was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on April 16th, 1936, to Harvey and Elizabeth Sauter. After moving around, Ed graduated Clifton High school in Clifton New Jersey. Shortly after, he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Sauter, at the Palisades Amusement Park while waiting in line for the Ferris Wheel. Patricia and Ed were married on September 1st, 1956, and moved to New York shortly before Ed would go on to serve in the Army. Ed was stationed in France, where Pat would later join him.
After returning from France, Ed and Pat settled in New York to start their family. Ed worked as a bricklayer, building the house that he would raise his children in, and eventually became partner in John Forni Construction that would go on to build numerous properties in his community.
Besides being a devoted husband and father, Ed was best known for his honesty and integrity, and always impressed upon his family that you are only as good as your name. Ed was a member of his local rotary club, an avid baseball card collector, Red Sox fan, and Western movie enthusiast. Despite everything he had done in his life, what his family will remember him for the most is always having a smile on his face and his kindness. Ed will be dearly missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A Memorial service will be held from 11:30AM - 2:30pm on Thursday, November 30th at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ 07871 with a service immediately following at 2:30PM.
