

Ernest Elwood Ross Sr., 82, died peacefully on April 17, 2013 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. Ernest was born in Milton, NJ and lived there before moving to Equinunk, PA in 1976. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and worked as a Plastics Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton, NJ, retiring in 1977. Ernest was a 50 year member of the American Legion in Milton, NJ. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; loved antique cars and spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth (Search) and Charles Ross, one sister, three brothers, his beloved wife of 57 years, Helen (Metzler) Ross, and his beloved son Ernest E. Ross II. Ernest is survived by his loving son Henry C. (Cheryl) Ross, his grandchildren, Shannon and Christopher Ross of Louisiana; Kim (Ricky), Dan (Shannon), Kyal (Brandy) Ross, Jessie (Andy) Kenyon, Casey (Matt), Emmylou (Bryan) Ross of NY and Garrett (Kira) Ross of Pennsylvania; sisters: Raina (George) Bauckham and Lana (Clarence) Gletow. He is also survived by his aunt Stella Fredericks, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am Tuesday at the funeral home with interment to follow at Holland Mountain Cemetery, Milton, NJ.
