Frederick M.H. Currie Jr., 74, of Sparta, NJ and Naples, FL passed away on January 27, 2016, after a brave battle against Guillain-Barre Syndrome surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 24, 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Frederick was a graduate of Lafayette College and Wharton School of Business. He worked as an accountant for Arthur Andersen, several NJ law firms and in private practice. Frederick served in the Army National Guard and the First Troop Philadelphia City Calvary, he was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution; Color Guard, former member of the Lake Mohawk Country Club Board of Directors, a member of the Board of Directors for the Sparta Commons and a former member of the Lake Mohawk Golf Club. Fred was a selfless, caring, and fun person who loved a good joke, a good glass of scotch and life-long friends. He enjoyed gardening and reading, but his greatest joy was his family. Frederick is survived by his loving wife, Gail Crooks Currie; beloved father of Chip Currie and his wife, Beth and John Currie; devoted grandfather of Jason, Jessica and Luke and brother of Patricia Gallagher. Private services were held under the direction of Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871.
