Gary A. Griffin

Gary A. Griffin suddenly and peacefully passed away in his sleep on Friday, February 2, 2024. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, he was a longtime resident of Sparta, New Jersey.

He was married to Sandra, the love of his life for twenty-eight wonderful years and was a devoted father to his son Logan.

He was employed by CAC Industries in Long Island City, NY where he was a construction foreman working in Manhattan. He was widely respected in his field with many friends and colleagues.

He loved life and brought so much joy to everyone who met him. He was cherished by his extended family and lit up any room he walked into. He had an extensive community of friends both locally, at work and everywhere he went thanks to his broad range of hobbies. Gary was devoted to his family, and loved his son’s football games, being a former football player in Morris Knolls himself. People who knew Gary will remember that he was always the first one to come to their aid, no matter what the situation or problem. He was also passionate about music, songwriting, guitar repairing, fishing, fly-tying, cooking and hunting.

In addition to Sandra and Logan, Gary is survived by his mother Mary Ann of Edgewater, Fl., sister Cathy of Oak Ridge, NJ, sister Mary Ann and husband Matthew of Lafayette, NJ and his brother Sean and his wife Jennifer of Dingmans Ferry, PA. He leaves behind a tremendous number of family and friends that are too extensive to list. His loss will leave a hole in all our hearts forever.

Visitation for Gary will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871, followed by a prayer service from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gary's memory to Father John’s Animal House in Lafayette, NJ or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
