George Kevin Gregory

George Kevin Gregory passed away on January 28, 2021 in Ocala, Fl. He was just a few weeks away from his 94th birthday.

George was born in Teaneck, NJ. He trained in the US Army as a paratrooper. After the Army he attended and graduated from Seton Hall University. He started his career at Reaction Motors and subsequently held various positions at Picatinny Arsenal. He retired as a Procurement Analyst in 1985.

Kevin, as he was known by his family was a 50+ year resident of Sparta before retiring to his Pennsylvania farm on the Delaware River. It was 2 miles in on a (still) dirt road. A lifelong lover of golf, one of his first projects in retirement was to install his own driving range on the farm. After the passing of his wife, Helen, he divided his time between Pennsylvania and Florida. He continued to play golf into his 90’s, always having a couple of golf clubs with him. Kevin was a prolific writer of Letters to the Editor. He was published in the NJ Herald, Sullivan County Democrat and Florida Today.

He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Helen, and a great granddaughter, Colleen. He is survived by his children Mary Hochradel (Hans) of Annapolis, MD, Susan Banks (Dale) of Hamburg, NJ, Kevin Gregory (Inger) of North Hampton, NH, Ellen Gregory of Ocala, FL, and Joann Fiore (Allan) of Ocala, FL, his grandchildren Corinn Banks McBride (David), Kathleen Hochradel Jones (Brandon), Katelyn Gregory, Ashley Banks Davis (Tim), Kevin Gregory, Daniel Hochradel (Bayley) and Steven Gregory (Cathy)as well as his great grandchildren Penelope, Nicholas, Maria, Colin, Molly and Wilson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 6th at 10AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church 294 S. Sparta Ave., Sparta, NJ 07871. Interment will follow at St Thomas of Aquin Church in Ogdensburg.
