George is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Kathleen. Survived by his daughter, Diane Smaldone and her husband Tom, four grandchildren, Tommy, Rylee, Katie and Captain Christopher Smaldone.
George was a proud graduate of St. Peter's Prep and St. Peter's College. A Korean War Veteran, George would go on to 44 years of distinguished service in data management at the Port Authority of NY and NJ. George, and the love of his life, Kathy, were married for 54 years before her passing in 2017. George was a devoted Mets fan, a skilled card player, a social member of the Dumont Senior Center, and a devout parishioner of St. Mary's Church of Dumont.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 18th from 4PM - 8PM at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday, January 19th, 10AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church 294 S. Sparta Rd., Sparta, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
