James H Driscoll Jr.

SPARTA- James H. Driscoll. Jr. , passed into eternal life on January 12, 2011 with his loving family at his side. He was 80 years old. Mr. Driscoll was born in Orange, NJ to his parents, James Sr. and Mary Driscoll (Butler), and lived in West Orange prior to Sparta for the last 26 years. He was employed as an operating engineer for twenty-five years with the Local 825 Operating Engineers. James was a former member and a past exulted ruler of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks in Orange, NJ. He spent much of his life being involved in sports, and loved golf and softball. He coached his sons little league teams, and most recently he was deeply involved with his cherished grandchildren.

Mr. Driscoll is predeceased by a son; Thomas (2005) and grandson, Scott (2005).

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan Driscoll (Perrella), Sons; James and his wife Mary Jo of Ashaway, RI, David of Colorado Springs, Co, and Patrick of Sparta, NJ., daughters; Kathleen Catalano and husband Michael of Lafayette, NJ, and Maureen Longo and husband Frank of Sparta. Eight grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited for visitation hours Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 1-3 pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:15pm.
