Over a decade ago I started college, and my first two summers home I got a job working with my parents and my brother at the Warren County Special Services summer school.  It was my first full-time experience working in the field.  I was assigned James both summers... and I can honestly say that James changed my life in a big way.  His positive attitude helped me become a more positive person, and working with him helped me gain maturity and perspective.  Every time I think back to those two summers I reflect fondly with a smile on my face.  My condolences to all of his loved ones and to the countless people on whom he left an impact.  Rest in peace James, and thank you for all that you did for me.

So sorry for your loss Judy and Ken and  and the Dykstra Family and the Spingarn Families my thoughts and prayers go out to you all in this difficult time. fly high James with the angels, fly high with the angels. I knew his grandparents Douwe and ymke Dykstra from the Lafayette Federated Church. He will be missed by all who he has touched. God be with him till they all meet again.

Judy, Ken and family - It was an honor and a privilege to assist James with his supports and services. I appreciated the opportunity to learn from his perseverance and tenacity and to receive your kindness with regard to my own son. James was an extraordinary young man supported by a remarkable and giving family...I will keep him and you in my prayers.

My wife, Liz, and I, as well as my two sons, Rick Jr. and Dan, had the honor and pleasure to work with James during our employment at Warren County Special Services School District. James was one of our favorite students. His smile would always brighten our day.
Rest well James. "Mr. Rick" and his family will always remember you.

Our thoughts are with you as you begin a life without James ' physical presence.  Hang on to the love you and he shared,  since that will remain. Thinking of you.

I was blessed to have been James's caregiver for the last couple of years. He has taught me the meaning of unconditional love. I will hold the memories of all the quality time we spent together doing the things he loved in my heart forever. I would take him for walks at swartswood state park and talk with him and he would lean his head back for kisses, the bond I had with him was like no other. May you rest in peace my sweet angel, until we meet again in heaven. I love you forever !

  I don't know if you remember me, but I was James teacher at SSCS.  I replaced Jenn.  I believe James was about 5 then.  He was a lot of fun in class.
  So sorry for his passing. Prayers of strength to you both, family, and friends.

Viewing all the photos of your dear James, you can just tell how very special he was, and you need to know God chose your family to be blessed with him. I am so sorry for your loss Judy and Ken!! James was liked by so many we enjoyed spending time with him at the Clark Center.  I am glad I had the pleasure to have worked with him and know him!!! I will be st the service Friday night. God bless you and your family!!

I don't know James,  but as a mother of 3 sons,  it breaks my heart to hear of your loss.  I'm very spiritual and believe in God,  know there is a better place God holds for us.  Believe and keep the faith until you meet your son again...Prayers for your entire family.  Peace be with you and the memories James leaves behind. Amen

My little buddy left me. I will always remember you. We always had fun you and I . I am so glad you never told your mom about the fun we had with the shade in your bedroom we use to laugh so hard or the you were supposed to be going to sleep and we were watching Barney. Counting to 50 in the pool and the hours we spent in there . I love you little buddy and you always will be missed by me. Rest In Peace Buddy

I am sorry for the loss of your precious James.  You know I had a special connection with James.  My heart is truly broken.  He was so special to me.  He may not have been able to talk per se but he spoke volumes with his strong spirit, soul and personality.   He was a gift from God.  I truly believe that.  God lent him to you for awhile but then he wanted James' sweet soul back in Heaven where it belonged.  I know that James totally knew how much he was loved.  His time here on this Earth may have been short but it was filled with love and joy.  He always had a peaceful demeanor and a very kind soul and spirit.  He was always smiling at least when I was around.  You know he thought I was hysterical.  I would not even have to do anything and he would just look at me, look at you and then back at me and just start either smiling or smiling and rolling his head back and forth as if he was so amused by me.  I used to say that I was not sure if I should be flattered or insulted.  I will never forget that river ride we did with him and how he was pulling my hair from the back seat and when I would turn around, he would pretend that he did not do it.  Then he would start smiling from ear to ear and get all excited when I said to you, "I wonder who could have pulled my hair?"  He may not have been able to verbalize his thoughts but he understood everything that was going on around him.  When I would come in the house sometimes he would get up and walk over and give me a hug.  If he didn't, I would call him on it and most of the time if I said, "Hey, where's my hug," he would get up and come give me a hug.  I will always remember what a little fish he was in the pool too.  I will miss James terribly. I know how good you guys were to me when my Christina passed away and I want to pay it forward.  I am here for you guys totally.  Love you guys.  I pray for your hearts to heal.  I am so proud of all of you for being so wonderful to James and for giving him such an awesome life.

I would like to extend my condolences to James family and friends. May the God of all comfort give you the strength and comfort during this time.

James was a wonderful young man & will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. So sad I won't be able to attend his service. My years working with him at Kittatinny were so rewarding. So sad that both our A20 boys have left us. Give Mickey a hug from us all. RIP James.
