Born on August 22nd, 1945 in Washington, PA, Jeanne was the daughter of Lt. John and Betty Lindsay. Jeanne was from a military family and traveled extensively during her childhood living in various places including Texas, Missouri and Germany. In 1963 she graduated from Belton H.S. in Belton, Missouri and went on to further her education by attaining an A.A. from the American University of Paris while her father was stationed there. Upon returning to the United States, she then obtained a B.A. from University of Connecticut, an M.A. in English from Trinity College, and then an M.S.W. from Rutgers University.
Jeanne lived in Piscataway, NJ for many years before ultimately settling in Freehold, NJ. While living in Piscataway, Jeanne made many life-long friends, was a Brownie troop leader for several years and a member of Piscataway’s Christ United Methodist Church.
Jeanne spent over 30 years working for Howell Township Public Schools as a school social worker. She was very independent and kindhearted, always willing to help when she saw anyone in need. Her final years were spent enjoying her grandchildren and traveling.
Predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Rachel Lindsay (nee Nyswaner); father, Lt. John Strohm Lindsay, sister Susan Lovell; and brother-in-law, Ray Lovell.
Jeanne is survived by her beloved daughter, Maya Wydenbach; son in law, Graham Wydenbach; granddaughters: Brooke, Madelyn and Ella Wydenbach; nephew, Bobby Howard; and nieces Kelly and Allison Lovell.
Her family thanks everyone at Bristol Glen for taking such good care of her during her final years.
Services will be held at Goble Funeral Home in Sparta, NJ from 2-4pm on May 30th.
