Joan M. Moyle

Joan Mary LeStrange Moyle, 87, of Sparta NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Honesdale, Pa, to Joseph and Dorothy Connor LeStrange. On August 26, 1967 she married Robert M. Moyle. They called Sparta home for 54 years.

She graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1960. She went on to work in several different areas, and settled into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for most of her career. She retired from Morristown Medical Center after 25 years.

Joan enjoyed traveling to visit family and particularly enjoyed her trips to Italy, Ireland, and a big sibling trip to the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.

Joan is predeceased by her husband Robert, her parents, her sisters Ann Harris and Dolores Lasco and her brother Tom LeStrange.

She is survived by her children Ann Marie Moyle, Bill Moyle and his wife Jennifer, Mary Ellen Moyle, and Kathleen Craig. She was the loving grandmother of Billy and Emma Moyle, Grace and Devin Craig, and Grandpups Sully & Milo “Monkeypants”.

She is also survived by her siblings Joe and Roni LeStrange, Mary and Jason Abell, Kathryn LeStrange, Mike and Mary LeStrange, Eileen and Rob Hugo, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Friday, October 3, 2025 4pm - 8pm at Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta NJ. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9am Saturday, October 4th at Saint Kateri Church, 427 Stanhope Road, Sparta, NJ. A graveside service will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in her name to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Center, 99 Sparta Ave Newton NJ 07860.
