We regretfully announce the passing of our beloved mother, Joan Paich, on June 17th, 2022. Mom was surrounded by her family and prayers from many in her final days. She passed away peacefully after a long illness.
Our mother, Joan, was a strong and fearless woman and we were blessed to have her as the head of our family and as a role model. Joan earned an associates degree from Jersey City College and ultimately pursued a career as an executive secretary at Warner Lambert, where she worked for many years, until retiring to spend time with her family and friends in New Jersey and Florida.
Outside of work, Joan was creative and had many hobbies, including crafting stained glass pieces, building doll houses and collecting and rebuilding antique dolls. An avid adventure-seeker, she also loved skiing, roller skating, snowmobiling, swimming and boating.
In 1958, Joan married our father Tony, and together they went on to have 3 children. Joan was an amazing and loving wife and mother, who wanted the best for her family, and worked hard to ensure her children had the best care and opportunities to grow in life. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her in our hearts.
Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Anthony Paich, her loving son Daniel Todd Paich and her brother David Neill Antepara Senior. She is survived by two daughters, Valerie Finkeldie and her husband John of Sparta, NJ and Marlene Braun and her husband Wilhelm of Lafayette, NJ. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Olivia and John Henry Finkeldie, her sister-in-law Norma Paich and two nephews Brian Paich and Gary Paich. Joan was also an animal lover and left behind a 17 year old Shitzu named Oreo who was her steady companion until the end.
A private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Joan’s name to the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat, as this organization provided incredible support and care for her angel of a son, Danny.
