Joseph A Florio, Sr.

Joseph Anthony Florio, Sr. of Milton, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2019. Joseph was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 1, 1933 to Thomas and Jennie (Li Bretti) Florio. Joseph worked as a Fur Dresser in New York. He and his family moved to Milton in Jefferson Township in 1969.
He later became a Township Councilman in 1971 and was a councilman for 22 years. Joseph was active in several organizations, Republican Club, Knight of Columbus, Scouting and the Pony League. He loved fishing, bowling and cooking but most of all spending time with family especially the holidays. Joseph is survived by his wife of 61 years Arline B. (Swain), his five children: Thomas of Milton; Jean Lowe (Michael) of North Port, FL; Arline (Butch) Wojy of Brodheadsville, PA; Josephine Florio of Bridgewater, NJ; Joseph, Jr. (Jennifer) of Andover, NJ. 8 Grandchildren: John and Brian Lowe; Thomas, Stacey and Adam Wojy; Daniel, William and Julia Florio. Also survived by sister Marie Rallo of Auora, Ohio.
Joseph is predeceased by his sisters; Jean, Frances, Diana and Josephine.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 20, 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.

Rest in Peace dear friend. So happy you and John reconnected after so many years. We all became great friends and shared many happy times. Thank you for all the joy you gave us. There is so little to say to the family except I wish you peace.

My heart is broken for all of you. Many memories and many happy times. Focus on them. He is, and will always be, with you all. One amazing person and I can see his face with his huge smile!
